Who Is Coach Justin?

My Coaching career began in 2008 after helping a friend with a training plan. Since that time , I have coached athletes from Sprint Distance to Ironman and from beginners to elite. In addition, I created a local Triathlon Team in 2016 to bring first-time never0evers into the sport in a non0intimidating way by providing concise group-level coaching and answering all of the “beginner” questions in a supportive way.

Coaching Philosophy:

With a backgkround as a Spacecraft Systems Engineer and a degreein Physicis, I am a data-driven coach. I like the numbers, the data, because there’s no escaping it. I like the technical side of the movements in swimming, cycling, and running to see where efficiencies are gained and lost with movement through the medium. But with all of that, I am also appreciative of the “Art” of coaching - at times interpreting the data differently provides greater insight into the athlete; the movements may be less efficient but better for the athlete.
